Reconnecting your Fronius System to Wifi (GEN24 & SnapINverter)
Changed your router or updated your Wi-Fi password?
You will need to relink your inverter to keep your monitoring active. Choose your inverter model below for step-by-step instructions.
First: search and check you have the latest version of Solarweb app on your phone.
Second: If asked to login on the app, use your email address as your username. If you can’t remember the password, click forgot password and reset it.
GEN24 Inverter Guide:
To change the wifi settings you just need an iPad/Laptop/Smartphone and stand near the inverter.
These are the steps to follow:
- Briefly tap your finger once on the optical sensor between the two LEDs on the GEN24 inverter to activate the inverter’s wifi access point
- On your Laptop/iPad/Smartphone, find the Wifi network called “Fronius_xxxxx”
- Connect to it using password 12345678
- On your web browser go to website address of 192.168.250.181
- Click on the 3 horizontal lines (hamburger icon) and select “Communication”
- Login as user “Customer” and if you don’t have a password click on “forgot password?” and set a new one
- Click on the 3 horizontal lines (hamburger icon) and select “Network”
- Expand the wifi section and select your new home wifi network and enter the new home wifi password then click on “connect“
Your inverter should reconnect after a short while and be monitoring again.

SnapINverter Guide:

- On the inverter screen go to Settings>Wifi>Enable wifi access point
- On your laptop/ipad/smartphone, find the wifi network called “Fronius xxxxx”
- Connect to it using password 12345678
- On your web browser go to website address of 192.168.250.181 (or datamanager)
- Go to Settings/Network and select your new wifi network then click on “Set“
- Enter the wifi password of your new network then click on “Save”
- Click on the tick button at the top of the page.
- You may need to perform a shutdown procedure if the inverter does not connect.
Your inverter should reconnect after a short while and be monitoring again.
